Tenge Law Firm recently secured a $2,236,000 net jury verdict for a client injured in an ice-related slip-and-fall in Arapahoe County, Colorado.

According to the Jury Verdict Reporter of Colorado (JVRC), the result is the largest slip-and-fall verdict in JVRC’s Arapahoe County records.

The verdict followed a seven-day jury trial involving an icy property and the responsibilities of those charged with maintaining safe conditions. The jury found both the homeowners association and property management company responsible, assigning equal fault to the two defendants.

Holding Property Owners and Managers Accountable

Slip-and-fall cases are sometimes dismissed as minor accidents, but falls caused by dangerous property conditions can result in serious injuries and lasting consequences.

Property owners, homeowners associations, management companies, and others responsible for maintaining premises have obligations to address dangerous conditions. When they fail to do so, injured individuals may have the right to pursue compensation for the harm they have suffered.

This case required Tenge Law Firm to demonstrate not only the dangerous conditions that led to the fall, but also why the parties responsible for the property should be held accountable.

After hearing the evidence presented at trial, the jury returned a verdict resulting in a net award of $2.236 million for our client.

A Significant Arapahoe County Result

The significance of the verdict extends beyond the amount recovered for our client.

JVRC tracks jury verdicts throughout Colorado. Based on its Arapahoe County records, Tenge Law Firm’s $2.236 million net verdict is the largest slip-and-fall verdict reflected in those records.

While every case is different and past results cannot guarantee future outcomes, this verdict reflects the importance of thoroughly investigating dangerous-property cases and being prepared to take them to trial when necessary.
